The Black Health Forum was set up in May 2000, to look at health and Social care issues relating to African and African-Caribbean communities and the services they receive.

The main aim of the Black Health Forum is to work in partnership with the African/African-Caribbean communities in the Bradford district to become enabled, confident and informed about Health and Social Care Services on offer to them, so they are able to make informed choices when accessing these services.

New Committee

In February 2012 an extraordinary meeting was held whereby a new Chair (George Deane), Vice Chair (Wayne Alleyne), Treasurer (Reynaldo Serrant) and Secretary (Sandra Brown) was elected. The committee has a volunteer (Lieon Pemberton) who also helps in taking the notes at committee meetings to help build her confidence and improve her skills in this area.

The committee is made of members who have caring roles, disabilities and other long term conditions. The Forum is looking to appoint more members on to the committee to help the Forum have greater influence on how health and social care is delivered.
